The Peterson Family
Vernon Peterson grew up in the orchard, working alongside his father on the family farm. It was there he learned life-long lessons. Work hard. Learn from your mistakes. Take care of the people around you. A love for life and a love for people, instilled by his father, still shows today in the way Vern leads, with a glimmer in his eye and a smile never far from his face. In the small Swedish town of Kingsburg, the Peterson family has farmed the same land for generations. Carrying on a 100-year tradition, Vern and his son Erik grow Regenerative Organic Certified® stone fruit with a commitment to doing things the right way, caring for their community, and producing fruit meant to be shared. It’s a way of farming shaped over generations. Care for the soil. Care for the people. Grow fruit the right way, for generations to come.

Happy soil is alive, rich in organic matter, and full of the microorganisms that support strong, resilient trees. The Petersons plant cover crops to support biodiversity, return nutrients to the soil, and limit disruption so the soil can function as it was meant to. Their holistic approach includes raising organic chickens, whose manure is used as natural fertilizer to nourish the land. It’s a harmonious system where everything works together to strengthen the orchard from the ground up.
